Mallorca - train where the pros train

Located off the southeast coast of Spain, a short flight from mainland Europe, Mallorca attracts thousands of cycling enthusiasts each year. The mild climate, beautiful scenery, and a vast network of cycling routes, make this the perfect cycling destination. There are literally hundreds of miles of secondary roads with pristine pavement over varied terrain, from the flat farmlands of the East, to the mountainous Northwest coast. The terrain provides ideal training conditions for every skill level. The villages, rich with cultural and architectural heritage add to this European experience.

2011 marks the fourth year we will be working with the coaches form Balance Point Racing to offer the perfect training opportunity for serious cyclists and triathletes. The focus of the

riding will be on enjoying the many sites around the beautiful island, and exploring some of the scenic coastline. Optional lectures on the physiology of training and racing will be offered to all participants. Technical swim sessions, and running tips are also available upon request, for those seeking a jump start on the triathlon season. Our coaches include multiple Ironman finishers and World Championship qualifiers.

Rides will cover a minimum of 100km each day. Cyclists interested in pre-camp training programs are encouraged to contact Ginny Sellars at www.balancepointracing.com. We have contacts and coaches in many different cities across Canada and the US, with on-line training and education programs available.

We highly recommend Balance Point physiologic testing prior to the camp, which will allows more specific training focus during the camp itself. We encourage anyone interested in these services to discuss testing opportunities with one of our coaches.

Our accommodations include two different 4-Star hotels. The initial few days will find us enjoying the beachside town of Playa de Palma, followed by a week of riding from the town of Alcudia. Both sites offer two fabulous buffet meals each day, while also being close to beaches, shops, and local attractions. The hotel locations are perfect for the non-training family members of our guests, with amenities for children as well.

Two-x-elle Women's Cycling Week-end

A Two-X-Elle Kootenay Weekend

The women's-only Two-X-Elle tour through the West Kootenay is back by popular demand! The annual tour takes place each May long weekend. Treat yourself to an extended weekend, designed to provide an incredible cycling experience, topped only by the social experience. Enjoy some of the best cycling in the world, on quiet, winding roads along the shores of Arrow, Slocan and Kootenay Lakes. As your travel host, Magic Places provides vehicle support, and excellent healthy meals and snacks.

The goal of Two-X-Elle is to encourage participation of women in sport, to share our excitement and energy of adventure with other women. The longest ride is 120km, however you may take advantage of vehicle support as you like. Space is limited due to the quaint accommodation in some of the most scenic towns B.C. has to offer. Secure your spot for 2012 to join a superb group of women who like to ride, eat, and laugh!

Heat Acclimation Spin Sessions
Friday 4th February and Saturday 24th February
Bringing together a great workout and huge health benefits. Come and spin for 60 minutes in a state of the art Infra-Red studio, soaking up the humidity. Tia is followed by a 30 minute yoga class!! These sessions will kick you in the butt - then stretch away all of your weariness!

May Long Weekend - Kelowna

This camp, set for the May long weekend, is aimed at providing athletes with skills and education for both Olympic and Half Ironman Events later in the summer. Coaches will cover the basics to help athletes navigat transitions, while offering the more experienced participants pacing and nutrition strategies. Join our experienced group of coaches on this excellent training and learning opportunity.

Axel Merckx Fondo Camp
June 8-10, 2012
This camp is specifically designed to help you prepare for the Valley First Granfondo Axel Merckx Okanagan. We will be exploring parts of the Okanagan that will be ridden during the event, talking about training ideas, and introducing participants to the intricacies of riding in groups. In addition, you will have the opportunity to book a private session with one of BPR’s coaching staff for a personal physiologic assessment to ensure your last block of training is specific to meet your needs.

Richters Classic Iron Camp

Three to five days of high volume training, taking in as much of the Ironman course as you are prepared for. Based out of Osoyoos, this camp boasts warm open water training, and plenty of climbing over Richter's Pass!
