Hey guy!
Sorry it's been so long since the last update.

I have been so glad the weather has started cooperating here in Calgary.  I am starting to get in some good long run's, 2-2.5hrs outside.  I have been hosting a few fun base building ride per week.  One is on Sunday and it is super busy! Which is awesome!  The other ride is on Thursday morning.  Anyone whole knows me, knows that I am not a morning person, but I am running this class starting at 5:30am.  Youch!  It's actually really nice, considering the time.  By the time 9:30am rolls around I already have almost 4hrs of training done, because I have a swim that follows the ride.  I am getting 2 good solid swims in per week with my buddy Scott Curry.  He is a wicked swimmer... Hopefully it rubs off!

So... The BIG NEWS is...

I am officially in for 24hrs of Adrenalin Solo!!!
You know, I have been planning on signing up for this race for sometime now, but what a shift in menallity over the past few days.  Before I knew I was in, it was like any other race. I wasn't too worried, and not too focused either.  But since I have confirmation that I am in the race, I can't get it out of my mind!  I am exited, terrified, focused, and curious about the whole event.  It will be a whole different game for me.

My advice to everyone is to sign up for an event, no matter how significant (long, short, difficult, easy) it is.  As long as it challenges your abilities, you will find focus from it.

I look forward to hearing about all the races that you all have planned for this year, and how you are feeling about them.

Feel free to reply to this thread!

All the best, train smart and stay injury free, now that it is go time!

Hey Luke!
It's so fun to hear the excitement in your thread! I know that feeling...the first year I signed up for IM, I was nervous, excited, focussed, and generally ALIVE for 9 months straight. It's what fired me up to get up at the crack of dawn for workouts. A little bit of fear is just the ticket to get your fired up.

I look forward to hearing about your adventure as you prepare for this EPIC race.
