It is nice to see all the bricks in the program this month.  However, it may be difficult for me to actually get them all done every week.  In the event that a brick is not possible, would it be better to do a bike in the morning and run in the pm, or just do a longer version of one or the other as one workout? (Does this make sense?)

Thanks.

Good question...

I would focus on the weakest link. If your biking feels strong, aim for a longer run. Or start with a 30 minute bike warm-up, and then throw the shoes on. The prime benefit of the brick is the neurologic challenge of following the bike session with a run session. We often do "mulitple bricks" in a single session when training indoors, by going form bike to run every 20-30 minutes. This maximizes the neuro challenge, while keeping long training sessions fun.
