Jen, your enthusiasm was the perfect motivator for Ginny, who has played that game well in the past. She is just not used to it coming form someone else. Gin was a real trooper today, heading into the technical sections with Rose and Luke. The two "girls" did parts of the trail they had never ridden before, and both looked much more confident this time around.

Peter did some pool work with Spencer today, with a focus on flip-turns, butterfly, and dives. It was fun to watch them working together on some skills. Spencer doing some good demo work on the trails, and Peter showing his confidence in the water. They are heading to Mara Lake tonight, and riding to their respective homes tomorrow. Great training throughout the week-end for both of them.

Joel put in over 120km on his Power Cranks yesterday, but we did not see him today, due to family commitments. Rumours have Greyson back on the radar, and we hope to see him out with the gang soon.

Luke and Rose will head back to Calgary Monday afternoon, after one last go at the Salty Dog trails, and a discussion on implementing some new ideas into training for Rose, who looked really strong today on her 2:30 run this morning.

Sad to hear Chris is working hard, but also nice to know there is someone minding the shop if anyone needs help...did I tell you I broke my bike? Chris was the first one I called, if only to talk to someone who I knew would understand and say the right thing to calm me down.

If anyone is interested...9:00am at the Salty Dog Trailhead on Monday morning!

Hey Jen. I went back Saturday for a couple of laps, then again today with Rosemarie and Luke to conquer a couple of sections. We can now proudly say no 'go-arounds' required...I was avoiding the first down ramp, and the steep rocky section where you and Stephen found 'the smooth line', and lastly a silly cut out log. We nailed them all, and realized the 'go-aournds' were way trickier. It was superb to ride with you all, and great to have Luke and Rose out for the weekend. Juliann and Sean spoilt us with a barbecue dinner on Saturday, and Easter Sunday dinner. Maddy is finally asleep in her own bed after running the wharf in the morning, swimming after lunch, and hiking/riding the Salty Dog trail on her run-bike in the afternoon. Good day.

Rosemarie literally RIPPED on Monday before she left for Calgary. She dropped me on the long climb, and I tried hard to reel her in on the downhill, but her huge improvement in the technical sections showed through, and I never saw her until the parking lot. 3 laps...49/47/44.

Luke outdid us...4 laps...49/38/36/38...and he is now officially registered for Salty Dog!

Spence and Peter rode to Mara Lake, froze their butts of pulling a SurvivorMan camp out, and then rode home to their respective warm beds.

Joel trained well on his own all week-end, and then breezed through a GREAT track session this afternoon. 5 x 400 + 3min Spiro (40rpm x 2l bag). Looked really good, and his hip stretches are paying off.

No news from the rest of the gang, but hope you all enjoyed the long week-end, and we will look forward to seeing you all on Friday.

Hey Gang, thanks for all the motivational reports and updates on the training weekend!
Easter Friday was my family day but was able to sneak away for a 90 minute run, out and back along Carrs Landing Rd. Very undulating terrain but was able to maintain a cadence of over 90 per minute for the whole duration, running 9&1s and covering 18K.
Saturday, got in 4 hours. First off, masters swim in the 50m pool covered 2700m with a 1500 TT just under 25mins. Then did a 3 hour MTB from my place up through Crawford. (Lost Lake, Vapour, Connector and then back up for Connector again and home)
Sunday Off for family.
Monday, Around the lake with AJ. head winds out, a brief respite and then more head winds once we got over the top of Predator. Tough ride home with only one other rider to share the work. 5.35 ride time, AvHR 139 (about 20<BP).
All good fun and looking forward to racing the ski2sea with Chris this Sunday!

Which reminds me...
Sunday's "training session" will likely be a "bring your own idea session".
Chris and Martin are racing Ski2Sea.
Ginny, Jenn, Jason, Stephen are all racing Barry's Rubaix. I was hoping a few more brave souls would join them...Geoff?
Andrew is spending the day with Maddy.

I will vote that any of those not racing enjoy either a structural tour of the lake as a group, or a functional and fun training ride down to Kelowna to cheer on the duo of Chris and Martin. If you are up for an organizational challenge, consider joining them for the event. It really is fun, and I hope we can get our crap together to enter a bunch of solo athletes in 2011!
