Hey that's great news!! It's coming along well.

Yes, you can wear whatever supportive wear you want...girdle and all.

I don't know about the taping. If you are going to do this, I would suggest doing it at an aid station, not on route somewhere. That way it will not look like outside support. You may even want to mention it at the pre-race meeting, and ask the best way to do it.

I would think that a SI belt would be perfectly legit.  It would have to be considered the same as wearing an ankle or knee brace, which I can only assume would be allowed?  If on chance it is not allowed, you may want to consider investing in some Core Shorts for the run portion, because they would provide you with some of the stability you are looking for.

You are able to wear any supportive garments you wish, but the taping along the route would certainly be considered outside assistance.

Glad things are going well for you Mardi.

My foot is nearly 100% after just three days of focused stretching, strength, and some long water runs...who knew?

You did a long water run?  How on earth did you manage this?

I am very glad your foot is better. This is excellent.

I was drvining around doing errands today and saw not one but 2 women running as a nice pace.  This irritated me instantly.  Therefore I had to go home and bake. Cakes and cookies that is.

Yes I baked banana double layer cake and a dozen chocolate cupcakes baked, wrapped, and frozen for my daughter Meya's 4th birthday party Tuesday after IMC. I did lick the bowl. Twice.

Did the last and final workout today in part with Atsuko, Liz and Courtney. Court and I swim at almost the same cadence I hope I can stick with her in the swim though I have my doubts considering the crowd.

I noticed my HR was quite high on the bike even though I was not spinning hard. Not sure what this is about but I am not going to worry about it.

This was followed by a 30 minute run with my SI belt on.  This will be a must for me in the run part of IM. I felt like it was stopping the wheels from blowing off so to speak.  I am happy with the way I felt and Courtney was great company.  Needless to say it was a great way to end a fantastic 10 months of training.

Now I am packing. How exciting!

Part of the pre-Ironman "experience" is the feeling of water retention that one gets form taking a bit of rest, and continuing to fuel well and hydrate. It feels awful, but really will not affect your performance...

Rest up, and enjoy the down time. See you all in Penticton!!!
