Last nite was the final TT of the year for the local Vernon Tues World Champs. Some very fast times posted by the ladies (Becky & Ginny)  Kiss on what I would characterize as avg to tougher conditions with a headwind/crosswind on the way back.

For me it was an average nite although it was my best time of the year ... (17:43)  Kiss. I've been tweakin' position on the bike in prep for IMC and things seem to be dialed in.

Last night respiration, cadence, HR and power were all working very well. My avg HR was 160 BPM with controlled breathing and close to 100 RPM cadence. Although ... I did not feel the greatest on the bike as some fatigue was setting in ... all cylinders were firing.

See attached polar download for all the gory details ...

Congrats to Jason and Peter for throwing down some super fast times as well.

Also ... tx to Greg for running and organizing the TT all year and tx to the dude who held all the dudes before the dudes started the TT last nite!!!

SC Kiss

If there is any interest, maybe a Balance Point TT race this fall??  Might be fun to showcase all of our varying TT skills to one another and some friendly ribbing as well??

OOOOHHH, I LIKE the idea of putting the TT boots to the MTB crowd, after they each took turns bullying me at the Salty Dog in May!

Great job on bringing down the TT time under 18 minutes Simon. That kind of power will be a HUGE confidence boost at Ironman in 2 weeks. You will shred the course, and if you pace the swim and run well, should be in for a GREAT race!

Ginny and Becky are both flying, which is really fun to see, and Peter O is coming along well, though I heard he was a bit off on his form last night.

There are two week-ends in September that we can consider, with some fun events to do for fun. I just heard of a new Xterra event in Kelowna set for Sept 26, and Sean has offered to host a wrap-up party in Salmon Arm.

Perhaps we can make it a full week-end of BVPR fun...
Saturday - TT and party at Sean's
Sunday - Xterra Triathlon or Duathlon for the non-swimmers

Will confirm details soon, but don;t put away the toys just yet!

Don't forget...last CRIT night of the year on Thurday.

Sadly, I will be away the weekend of the 25th for an adventure race in Cumberland.  I believe Ian and Jen are going too.
Otherwise you'd see a display of something from me at the TT......
If it happens on another weekend, I'd be in for sure!

Good luck to everyone going to the crit this Thursday!  I'll be heading down to Squamish with some other BPR'ers for a MTB race.

Yes, super job everyone for such fast times last night and thanks to Greg for hosting the TT.  Thanks also to Simon for organizing the supper last night.

I finally beat my PB time from last year.  I changed a few things last night which I think made the difference:
1. saddle was moved down and back
2. rode in the drops (normally I put my forearms on the tops)
3. split the race in thirds and increased my HR 6 BPM each third

My time was 19:12 but my goal has always been to go sub 19:00 Mercks-style before using any TT gear...not that I have any :-)  Looks like I've already have some goal setting completed for next season!

I will sit down with a calendar and try to plan a good day for a BPR TT, on a day when everyone can attend. It will also serve as an intro to BPR-2011 plans, which are growing and developing as we speak. More and more interest, and some possible sponsors on the horizon. Get teh word out, we still need a Title Sponsor to help cover cost for gear and travel expenses for the HP members.

20 spots available on teh High Performance Team for 2011...applications will be on-line soon!

Good lukc on the coast for those racing this week-end...everyone else, see you at the Crits!!!
