Tufo/Token North America has been a supporter of Balance Point Racing for a number of years now, So when I was building up my new road bike in May, I chose to spec it out with a number of Token products.
I had heard of Token before I hooked up with BPR, mainly because of how LIGHT many of their components are, and how they are budget friendly. Plus, all their Carbon items look wicked!! However, I did not realize there was a Canadian distributor. Spread the word BPR!
The highlight of the components I picked up from Vladimir at Tufo North America was a pair of Token C22A Super Lite Alloy clinchers. At a retail price of $639, the value is phenomenal. The rims are only 380g, and with Carbon hubs, Pillar bladed spokes, and Ceramic bearings, the whole wheelset is well under 1300g. Plus, they also include the lightest Ti skewers I have ever felt, and Vlad was kind enough to swap the black ones out for balance point Blue!
I have put miles on the wheels, and put them through a good test. Including the numerous pot hole smashes on the back side of the Century Ride loop, and a crash in one of the local crit races. 3 month's of training and more, on these race ready wheels, and I have not had to true at all. They are still spinning as straight and smooth as the day I pulled them out of the box.
I also purchased the Carbon Marble stem and post, which are ridiculously light. These three items allowed me to build a Large Titanium road bike under 15 Lbs. For those who don't know, Ti Frames can easily be up to 2 pounds heavier than a basic Carbon frame. Do the math.
I recommend these to anyone looking for a wicked pair of training or racing wheels.
