Ally and I did a 114km ride today from Vernon to Kelowna airport, via Westside Rd.

Just letting you know that large sections have been re-paved, though there is about 5km of rough stuff right around La Casa.

We had a great ride, though were both really low on calories, so the last few climbs were brutal.

Yes, a fantastic (challenging) ride along Westside Road. We went early on Tuesday morning and the traffic really wasn't much of an issue.
It was also yet another classic example of what happen when I don't eat enough...sorry, Ginny...lesson well learned. Poor thing must have thought I was going to ride off a cliff or something. Sad to say, the only cliffs at that partiular point were the ones I felt I was riding up!  Grin
I think I underestimate just how much energy my body uses during a ride like this. In some ways I'm greatful for this experience because it tells me just how important refueling while riding is. Something that's too late to learn in a race situation.
Hope everyone's training is going well!
See you out there!
