Racing is just something we do to stay focused on the lifestyle of healthy living.

Luke, I like how you put this so succinctly. That's exactly how I feel.

As I contemplate this year's events and the accomplishments and disappointments we've all faced, I am looking toward next year and the 600 k I still plan to complete before moving on to the 1200. I think the biggest message I'm taking away from your reports (and Ginny's) and experiences is... finishing always feels better than a DNF. I'll be changing my strategy from breaking records to getting my two wheels across the finish line. The huge positive with a few disappointing race results is the quick switch we can then make to how thankful we are for the lives we lead... family, friends, adventures. I'm determined to find the life balance between spending quality time with my family and pushing my physical and mental limits. Thanks for being such an inspiration.
