The 50km Overlander Ski Marathon is back @ Stake Lake (Kamloops) on March 3rd, 2012..

I suggest all skate skiers, fast or slow,  take part in this and see if we can "Crush The Guardian".  The theme is dependent on The Guardian's participation but I hope he commits to it.

You do realize that 'the Guardian' has never skied 50km in his life....he may 'crush' himself!
Having said that, if you set him a challenge, you never know how deep he may dig.

Just cause I have never completed 50km on skate skis doesn't mean I won't stand on that start line and bust my ass until I pass out 4km from the finish. Finish or not, I am not join down without a fight. The gloves have been dropped. There has already been some secret training going on in Montreal, if you consider MASSIVE calorie consumption as pre-training for a winter of huge miles on skis.

I suggest we try to get Peter's Dad back for another session of technique work. Maybe during our Winter Camp in February.

And Thomsen has threatened to make an appearance at the meeting this week-end, so perhaps a ride/ski/ride session should be planned for Saturday. Just a thought though, I won't be there to enjoy it. I don't arrive back from my trip until Sunday noon.

Keep up the trash talk ladies, gonna be a rough year for you all, once I get some miles under my feet!

Speaking of ladies... Prepare yourselves to get chicked!! (except for Peter, Thomsen and Ian). The Overlander is basically a winter version of the Salty Dog! Also, the course format consists of 5 x 10km laps.... So if anyone collapses... Help is not too far away! Oh... And there is a 4 hr time limit!

If anyone wants to get a head start on their ski technique this winter, there are ski camps at Sovereign Lake and Silver Star at the end of November.  These camps are a great way to start the season with good technique.  Emma and I have done these camps for the last couple years and have really enjoyed them.

Check the details at: http://www.sovereignlake.com/index.php/xcskicamps/
