Hi all here is my list so far for this season.

April 4 th Birch Bay Wa 15 km RUN.

April 25th Delta sprint Tri .

May 2 nd Kayak race Lake Whatcom Classic [ Bellingham Wa ]. Some thing new !

May 16 Cycling TT Silver Lake Trails Wa.

June 21st NB Sprint triathlon. Elk Lake.

July 12 th Vancouver Sprint Triathlon.

     July 25th Lake Padden Duathlon.Wa.

Aug 8 th Lake Samish sprint Bellingham Wa.

      Sept Huh
When I did Ginny;s long run last Thursday  I tried something different , I used KY Gel on my Garmin 301 chest band transmitter instead of water or spit and it gave me constant readings unaffected by power lines etc and therefore no spikes on the down load.

        Happy training,

                               Al.

Looks like a fun season of races Al!
Does any one know this guy is 70yrs+, trains with his dog, but races with the young women?! He's got it all figured out....
We'll have to get you up to the Okanagan for at least one event this year Al.

My "A" race this year is the Calgary 70.3 in early August!
Other planned races are low-key local ones:
May:5K 10Km road races;
June:  Sprint Tri (pool swim)
July: Olympic (open water)
My goal is to stay injury free and PB at the local races. Hopefully they'll prepare me to race well in Calgary...

Hmm...09 season planning, crazy stuff.

Well my first big event is over, I did the 3-day Rock and Ice Ultra and just finished last night with progressively faster times 11hrs, 10 hrs, 9 hrs so my season is off to a slow and steady start, I am ready to keep on improving. I finally figured out what I like to call the endurance shuffle on the third day, faster than a walk but definitely not a jog:) As for the rest of the year:

June - 20km Banff to Jasper Relay (6th), YK Sprint Tri (14th), YK to Tibbitt: 140km mountain bike on gravel roads (21st)
July - YK Olympic Tri
August - Calgary 70.3 and Ironman Canada
September - rest:)
October - Victoria Marathon? (qualify for Boston?)
November - start training to win a diamond at the 2010 Rock & Ice Smiley

That's it for me, happy training!

Main race is the Calgary 70.3.
Also want to the half marathon in YK.

Pretty slim race season this year.

I'm writing this while icing my foot - persistant plantar fasciitis that is keeping my race goals in check this season.

"Big" race is the Calgary 1/2 in August.
Will enjoy all the local races in Yellowknife, and if the foot gets better, I'm thinking Toronto Marathon in October to qualify for Boston.

Hey Lore,

I might be able to make you a night splint that will help, I have a couple of clients who swear by them. Drop me an email tomorrow and we can figure out a time to get you in.

My "A" race is Ironman Canada in August. First one!

I'm also doing:
- Oliver Half Iron
- Swim across the Lake
- Rattlesnake Island swim
- Apple Tri (relay - I'm running)

I hope to toss in a few other fun races just for the heck of it.
