This is an exerpt from an open letter addressed to the staff and associates at New Balance, from the Vice Chairman, Anne Davis.
On NBLink Friday I announced New Balance’s support plans for the victims of last week’s devastating earthquake in Haiti and response from our associates has been impressive. Many of you have stepped forward with donations for relief efforts and New Balance shares your passion for helping those in need. This is a powerful example of how we can work together to make a difference, and I am proud of how we rise to the challenge during difficult times.
As a reminder, NB will match, dollar for dollar, all associates contributions to the relief efforts. Furthermore, the NB Foundation will donate $100,000 if associate donations reach $50,000. New Balance has also shipped 1,000 pairs of shoes to Soles4Souls.
Meanwhile, our team will work to determine when and how to make additional contributions to the relief effort. Our goal is to ensure our contributions assist the long term rebuilding effort and overall health of Haiti. We will continue to keep you posted on our efforts – we have the best interest of the country in mind and we are committed to helping the people of Haiti.
We appreciate your concern and your participation in this team effort. Please visit NBLink to see how you can get involved.
Thank you,
Anne Davis, Vice Chairman
