Specialized

At Specialized, building bikes isn't a job. It's a full-bore, hardcore religion. A religion that's helped us evolve as a company and as riders over the last 20 years. To some, our obsession may seem a little sick in the head. But then, those people probably don't ride. They don't understand that, to be the best at something, you need to be a fanatic. And believe us, there's plenty of those wandering around our hallways. People like our product designers, who pursue innovations like they were well-hidden single tracks. Or the masochistic group down in R&D, who probably have more scar tissue than the entire NHL combined. Even our founder, Mike Sinyard, has been known to cancel meetings just so he could spend more time on the trail. Weird? Not to us. We started Specialized for two major reasons: Number one: We love the sport. Number two: We want to build products that help people like you enjoy the sport as much as we do. Period.

eLoad/eMend Sports Nutrition

“e load™ and EMEND™ are science based Canadian brands. The e load™ range includes a high electrolyte sport drink, electrolyte capsules, energy gels, and FLY™ , a tasteless carbohydrate powder. Athletes may combine these products in order to achieve “customization” of both carbohydrate and electrolyte levels depending on their energy output and sweat rates in any given condition. EMEND™ recovery formula combines whey protein isolate and carbohydrate with high levels of electrolyte and antioxidant. ALL products are low acid with minimal sweetness and flavour. Only non-resistant starches have been used in each formulation for maximum digestion, absorption and tolerance. Each product is FREE FROM NUTS, GLUTEN, artificial flavours, colours and preservative. The website at www.medioncorp.com is a well referenced wealth of information and the calorie and nutrition calculators take the “guesswork” out of race nutrition.

KinesioMajo

KinesioMajo offers Fascial Stretch Therapy (tm), Physical Conditioning and Muscle Balance Training.

Fascial Stretch Therapy TM incorporates manipulative stretching techniques where the client may be laying on a massage table (sometimes with a body part strapped down to restrain muscular compensation), sitting, standing, etc., and require a one-on-one attention as Majo, therapist, assist the stretches by specifically guiding the limbs, shoulders, hips and trunk in different directions, and by sometimes applying pressure to the muscles and fascias.

Physical Conditioning involves Majo coaching individuals through tailored exercise programs to best answer their physical needs, personal requests and ultimate goals. Programs may include total body weight exercises, functional and sport performance oriented exercises using different pieces of gym equipment (e.g. Cable Station, Olympic bars, Dumbbells, Kettles, Medicine Balls, BOSUs, SWISS balls, etc.).

Muscle Balance Training begins with a muscle imbalance assessment that investigates the body's restrictions and compensations to specifically orient the corrective exercise program. Identifying posture deficiencies, joint mobility & stability limitations and functional strength weaknesses, Majo designs programs that focus on improving posture, decreasing chronic pain symptoms, increasing functional capacity, well-being and performance.
