Junior Multi-Sport
Development Progam
Our mandate with this junior development program is to take a group of dedicated young athletes between the ages of 12 and 21 and develop them into tomorrow's champions. Rooted deep in our training philosophy is a long term perspective when it comes to developing endurance. The three areas of focus for this group are:
KNOWLEDGE - ETHICS - FUN
KNOWLEDGE - ETHICS - FUN
KNOWLEDGE
Fundamental to endurance sport is a consistent need to adapt training and thinking behaviors to optimize every training session. We at Balance Point pride ourselves on sharing an understanding of the best training techniques available. |
ETHICS
It is important to us that the development of these young athletes includes the building of a strong work ethic and a sense of fair play; understanding the role that effort plays in success and why the rules of the governing body are important. |
FUN
It is all too common that we hear of a talented young athlete with great potential that give up sport when they get a bit older. It maybe from injury, peer pressure, or burn out. We are interested in developing champions on the world stage. That means keeping them engaged in a fun, healthy lifestyle. All of our training, discipline, commitment and excellence must be delivered in a way that keeps it fun and perpetuates future success. |
TriathlonWith such a healthy population of young grass roots triathletes in the Kelowna / Okanagan area, we train these youngsters to achieve top level performance at Kids of Steel events, Tri-A-Tri's, Sprint Distance Junior Elite Triathlons and Xterra off road Triathlons.
