I enjoyed an exiting two days at the WHAT Snowshoe camp a few weekends ago. ‘WHAT” stands for Winter High Altitude Training. It was held at Silver Star Ski Resort. It included a total of three snowshoe sessions, all with their own adventures, two discussion sessions, and lots of food and fun. The first snowshoe was a two and a half hour night time adventure. The second snowshoe session also about two and half hours long the next morning. I had a good sleep so I was ready to go again. By the time of the third session that afternoon, I was starting to feel a little cramped up tired , and had to wear some wet clothes. But it was worth it. My favourite thing was the down hills which we came prepared for with crazy carpets which we had rolled up into our packs. My sister reached the top speed of 38km an hour. In the talk sessions, I learned a lot about mental strength while training, being smart, being strong, and how to benefit from every minute of every training session. Can’t wait for next year!
